PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN RELATING, EXPERIENCING, APPLYING, COOPERATING, TRANSFERRING (REACT) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether the increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who receive the REACT learning strategy is better than students who receive conventional learning. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental quasi-experimental method with the research type The Nonequivalent Control Group Design with a proportional sampling technique. The population in this study were all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Subang with a sample of class VIII C as the experimental class of 34 students and class VIII D as the control class of 34 students. The instruments used in this research consisted of two types, namely test instruments in the form of pretest-posttest. The resulting data was then analyzed with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 23 for Windows software. From the results of the analysis carried out with a significance level of 5% with a two-mean test using the t-test, the results obtained have a 2-tailed sig value of 0.00 < 0.05. This shows that the increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who received the REACT learning strategy was significantly better than students who received conventional learning. Thus, REACT learning can be used as an alternative in mathematics learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.
